PROJECT OVERVIEW
The Knothole Foundation uses baseball as a vehicle to create opportunities, build community, and make an impact beyond the field.
For more than two years, Berger Media has worked directly with The Knothole Foundation across multiple events, programs, and initiatives—creating photography, video, interviews, social content, and promotional assets designed to showcase the organization's work and the people behind it.
Across 4+ projects, Berger Media has documented everything from HBCU baseball showcases and CMPD games to diversity initiatives, youth programs, classroom experiences, and the introduction of a new Knothole mascot.
The ongoing relationship has allowed Berger Media to become more than an event photographer. By understanding the organization, its people, and its mission, each project can be approached as part of a larger visual story.
THE CHALLENGE
The Knothole Foundation does more than host baseball events.
Its programs connect athletics, education, community, and opportunity—and each initiative has a different story to tell.
The challenge was to create content that could capture that full range while giving Knothole the visual assets needed to promote its work across multiple platforms.
Content needed to work beyond the events themselves, supporting:
Social media
Event promotion
Public relations
Media appearances
Community outreach
Organizational marketing
The work also needed to move quickly.
Many of the projects involved long event days, multiple locations, interviews, games, practices, classroom settings, and moments happening simultaneously.
Berger Media needed to capture the big moments while also finding the smaller, human moments that communicate why the work matters.
THE APPROACH
Because of the ongoing relationship, Berger Media approaches each Knothole project with an understanding of the organization's mission, visual identity, and audience.
Rather than simply documenting what happens, the focus is on finding the people and moments that tell the larger story.
Coverage has included:
Event photography
Game photography
Practice and training coverage
Classroom photography and video
Interviews
Promotional videos
Social media reels
Long-form video
Behind-the-scenes content
B-roll
Youth and athlete storytelling
Community-focused storytelling
Each project is approached with both immediate and long-term content needs in mind.
The goal is to leave Knothole with more than documentation of an event—a library of visual assets that can continue to tell the organization's story long after the cameras leave.

THE WORK
HBCU SHOWCASE
The HBCU Showcase has been one of the central projects in the ongoing relationship.
Across at least three showcases, Berger Media captured the event from multiple perspectives—from the games themselves to practices, classrooms, interviews, and the people surrounding the program.
The content was created not simply to document the showcase, but to help promote it and communicate the opportunity it provides to athletes and the broader community.
Coverage included:
Game photography and video
Practice coverage
Athlete portraits
Interviews
Classroom content
Promotional video
Social reels
B-roll
The result was a collection of content Knothole could use before, during, and after the showcase to continue promoting the program.
DIVERSITY IN BASEBALL
Berger Media also documented Knothole's Diversity in Baseball initiative, capturing the people and experiences at the center of the program.
The focus was on more than baseball.
Photography and video highlighted the participants, environment, and community surrounding the event, creating content that could communicate the broader mission behind the initiative.
CMPD GAME
The CMPD game provided another opportunity to capture the intersection of baseball, community, and local partnerships.
Berger Media documented the event through photography, video, interviews, and B-roll, creating content that could be used across Knothole's social and promotional channels.
INTRODUCING A NEW MASCOT
When Knothole introduced a new mascot and program, Berger Media was there to help tell the story.
The shoot combined photography, video, social reels, B-roll, and classroom content to introduce the new program in a way that felt energetic, approachable, and connected to the young people Knothole serves.
Rather than simply photographing the mascot, the content showed it interacting with students and becoming part of the organization's larger story.
TEAM + PROGRAM CONTENT
Beyond individual events, Berger Media has created ongoing promotional content for Knothole's teams and programs.
This work has included photography, video, interviews, social content, and B-roll designed to give the organization a steady supply of visual assets for its digital presence.
The ongoing nature of the relationship allows each project to build on the last, creating consistency while still giving each program its own visual identity.
THE PEOPLE BEHIND THE PROGRAM
At the center of every Knothole project are the people.
Athletes. Coaches. Students. Families. Community partners. Volunteers. And the people working behind the scenes to make each program happen.
Interviews have been incorporated into every project, giving Knothole the opportunity to tell its story through the voices of the people experiencing it firsthand.
That people-first approach helps turn event coverage into something more meaningful: stories that show not only what Knothole does, but why it matters.
THE RESULT
Over more than two years, Berger Media has become an ongoing visual storytelling partner for The Knothole Foundation.
Across 4+ projects and initiatives, Berger Media has delivered more than 300 edited photographs, 15+ social media reels, 6+ long-form videos, interviews, promotional content, and extensive B-roll.
The content has been used across Knothole's social media, media appearances, public relations efforts, and promotional campaigns.
More importantly, the relationship has allowed Berger Media to consistently capture the organization's growth, programs, partnerships, and community impact over time.
The result isn't one campaign or one event.
It's an evolving visual library that helps Knothole tell its story wherever its work takes it.
THE STORY BEHIND THE STORY
The most valuable part of the Knothole Foundation relationship isn't any single event.
It's the trust built over time.
After more than two years and multiple projects, Berger Media understands how to step into a Knothole event and get to work—often across long production days, multiple environments, and constantly changing schedules.
That trust creates room to do more.
To stay longer.
To find the moments happening between the planned shots.
To ask one more question.
To capture one more interview.
To deliver more than what was expected.
That's what has made the relationship continue.
For Berger Media, the goal isn't simply to show up, capture an event, and leave.
It's to become a creative partner that understands the mission, sees the story, and consistently delivers the content needed to tell it.
That's the kind of relationship Berger Media is built to create.
