The Heart Behind Berger Media

Hi, I'm Sam Berger — an Emmy-winning journalist, visual storyteller, and the guy who believes every good story deserves a great cup of coffee and, occasionally, a terrible dad joke.

(Why did the journalist go to the ice cream shop?
To get the scoop, of course.)

I started Berger Media because I wanted to tell the stories that don't always fit neatly into a traditional news broadcast.

Stories about the chef building something from scratch. The entrepreneur turning an idea into a business. The nonprofit making a difference in its community. The hotel creating an experience people won't forget. The people and places that make a destination worth visiting.

Over the years, I've had the opportunity to tell stories in newsrooms, on the road, behind the scenes at major events, and alongside businesses and organizations across the country. I've produced major live broadcasts, covered the Super Bowl and its championship parade, interviewed everyone from athletes and entertainers to political leaders, and worked with more than 100 businesses and organizations to bring their stories to life.

Now, through Berger Media, I bring that same journalistic curiosity and storytelling instinct to brands, organizations, and people who have something meaningful to say.

A Journalist's Eye. A Creative's Lens.

My background in journalism shapes the way I approach every project.

I don't just show up with a camera and start recording.

I want to understand the story first.

What makes this place special?
Who are the people behind it?
Why should someone care?
What do you want your audience to feel?

Then I use photography, video, interviews, and visual storytelling to bring those answers to life.

That might mean creating a library of content for a hospitality brand, documenting the people and flavors behind a food festival, producing a brand story for a growing business, or creating social content designed to stop someone from scrolling.

The format may change. The goal doesn't:

Create something authentic that makes people care.

The Stories I Love to Tell

I'm especially drawn to stories about people, places, food, travel, and the experiences that bring us together.

I've photographed chefs in busy kitchens, followed entrepreneurs building their businesses, documented community events, explored new destinations, and captured the moments that make a place feel like more than just a location.

Food can tell you about a culture.

Travel can introduce you to a community.

A business can reveal the person behind the idea.

And sometimes, the best story is simply about the people who make a place special.

Those are the stories I look for.

Why Berger Media?

Because good content isn't just about having a nice camera.

It's about knowing what to look for.

My experience in journalism taught me how to find the heart of a story, ask the right questions, work quickly, build trust with people, and turn real moments into compelling narratives.

My experience in visual storytelling allows me to translate those stories into photography and video that brands can actually use — from social media and digital campaigns to websites, marketing materials, and long-form storytelling.

Whether you need a single project or an ongoing creative partner, I approach every assignment with the same goal:

Understand your story. Find what makes it matter. And create something people remember.

Let's Tell Your Story

Every brand, business, organization, and destination has a story.

My job is to help you find it — and tell it in a way that feels authentic to who you are.

Let's create something worth remembering.

And yes, I'll probably bring a dad joke along for the shoot.
